Old Video of Fight At Airport Shared As A Recent Incident

A video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption “What’s this about? How come these Immigration Officials beat a passenger like this?” Showing visuals of a fight at the Karachi airport.

The video was also shared by a prominent Pakistani journalist; Moeed Pirzada. The post made by Moeed was reshared more than 7K times at the time of reporting.

The claim gained traction on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), the claim was shared here, here, here, and here gaining upwards of more than 549K views.

To verify the claim’s authenticity, a comprehensive fact-checking process was initiated. A reverse imaging technique was employed, revealing that the shared video dates back to 2018. The video shows an incident in 2018 at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. The officials involved in the incident were later suspended by the FIA ​​director and a departmental inquiry was ordered.
